Creating and Managing Travel Plans
Creating, editing, and managing travel plans on the Travel to Story platform is incredibly easy. Plan detailed travel routes and experience an unforgettable journey.
Creating a New Travel Plan
To create a travel plan, click the "Create New Plan" button on your dashboard. Give your plan a title and set start and end dates. You can set your total spending limit by doing budget planning. Select a currency to be ready for international travel planning.
Editing Plan Details
You can make changes to your travel plan at any time. Add a plan description to create your travel story and update the plan status (Planned, Ongoing, Completed). With visibility settings, you can set your plan as public, followers-only, or private.
Plan Organization
You can create multiple travel plans and manage separate plans for different travel routes. You can categorize your plans, mark favorites, and archive them. To make your travel planning process easier, you can sort your plans by date, status, or name.
Tip
Adding detailed information when creating travel plans helps you remember your travel memories later. You can enrich your travel story by adding photos and notes for each plan.
Location Management and Map Usage
With location adding and map management features in Travel to Story, you can visualize your travel route and work on the map while doing travel planning.
Location Adding Methods
You can use several different methods for adding locations. Click anywhere on the map to add a location to your travel plan. Use the search bar to search for a travel destination by city, country, or place name. You can also do precise location management by entering coordinate information.
Location Details
You can enter detailed information for each location you add. You can set the location name, address information, visit date and time. Write a location story to record your memories about that place. You can visualize your travel memories by adding photos and media files.
Route Drawing and Optimization
When creating a travel route, you can reorder your locations using drag-and-drop. With the route optimization feature, you can do travel planning by calculating the shortest distance. You can import your existing travel routes to the platform by uploading GPS route files (GPX, KML).
Location Marking
You can track your travel progress by marking the locations you visit as "Visited". Completed locations are shown in different colors on the map. You can make travel plan tracking easier with location status updates.
Activities, Accommodation, and Expense Tracking
In Travel to Story, you can do detailed travel planning by adding activities, accommodation, and transportation information for each location, and track your expenses with budget management.
Adding and Managing Activities
With the activity adding feature, you can record the activities you want to do at each location. You can categorize your travel plan by selecting activity types (sightseeing, dining, entertainment, culture, nature, sports, etc.). You can do travel budget planning by adding activity description, date/time information, and activity cost.
Accommodation Information
You can complete your travel plan by adding accommodation information. You can enter detailed information for accommodation options such as hotels, guesthouses, Airbnb, or camping sites. You can track your travel budget by adding reservation reference, check-in/check-out dates, and accommodation cost.
Transportation Management
You can complete your travel route by adding transportation information. You can enter details for transportation methods such as flights, trains, buses, car rentals, or others. You can do travel planning by adding departure and arrival locations, date/time information, and transportation cost.
Budget Tracking and Expense Management
With the budget management feature, you can set a total travel budget and track your expenses. You can record your travel expenses in detail by adding cost information for each activity, accommodation, and transportation. You can do international travel planning using different currencies. You can make travel budget control easier with budget usage percentage and remaining budget information.
Live Locations and Real-Time Tracking
With Travel to Story's Live Locations feature, you can activate your travel plan to share your location in real-time, allowing your friends and followers to track your travel route live.
Activating Live Location
To use the live location feature, you need to set your travel plan's status to "Ongoing". In an active travel plan, you can mark your current location by clicking the "I am here" button. Your followers can see your travel route in real-time with live location updates.
Real-Time Tracking
You can see the live locations of users you follow on the map. You can track your friends' travel progress with live location updates. You can be notified of live location updates with notifications.
Privacy and Security
Live location sharing is completely under your control. You can stop live location sharing at any time. Only your followers or selected people can see your live location. You can manage your live location sharing with privacy settings.
Discover and Follow Features
In Travel to Story, you can get inspiration by discovering travel plans, follow travelers you like, and interact with the travel community.
Discovering Travel Plans
You can discover travel plans on the "Explore Journeys" page. You can view popular, new, and trending travel plans. You can search for travel plans by criteria such as region, duration, and type with filtering features. You can visualize travel routes with map view.
User Following
You can follow travel plans and travel stories by following travelers you like. You can learn about new travel plans of users you follow with notifications. You can strengthen your connections with the travel community by managing your followers and following lists.
Plan Following
You can be notified of updates by following travel plans you like. You can receive notifications when new locations, activities, or comments are added to travel plans you follow. You can view travel plans you follow in a special list.
Search and Filtering
You can search for travel plans, users, and locations with advanced search features. You can filter travel plans by criteria such as region, country, and city. You can do travel planning with detailed filters such as travel duration and budget range.
Profile Management and Settings
In Travel to Story, you can customize your account with profile management and settings, manage your privacy settings, and personalize your travel experience.
Profile Information
You can update your personal information on your profile page. You can add profile photo, name, username, bio, and social media links. With profile visibility settings, you can make your profile public or followers-only.
Privacy Settings
You can control the visibility of your travel plans and profile with privacy settings. You can set options to approve follow requests or accept them automatically. You can change your privacy preferences at any time.
Notification Settings
You can choose which notifications you want to receive with notification settings. You can set email, browser, and mobile notification preferences. You can manage notification types such as likes, comments, follows, and plan updates.
Language and Regional Settings
You can select the platform language as Turkish or English with language settings. You can make regional settings such as date, time, currency, and distance units. You can use correct time information in your travel plans with timezone settings.
Leaderboard and Badges
In Travel to Story, you can show your travel achievements with the leaderboard and badge system, compete with other travelers, and enrich your travel experience with gamification features.
Point System
You can earn points with activities such as creating travel plans, adding locations, recording activities, and sharing plans. You can also earn points with social interactions such as receiving likes, making comments, and being followed. You can measure your travel achievements using the point system.
Badges and Achievements
You can earn badges when you reach certain travel goals. You can earn badges for achievements such as creating your first plan, visiting 10 locations, and traveling for 30 days. You can showcase your badge collection on your profile.
Leaderboard
In the leaderboard, you can see the best of the travel community in categories such as most points earned, most plans created, and most locations visited. You can try to increase your travel achievements by tracking your own ranking. You can view weekly, monthly, and all-time leaderboards.
Statistics
On your statistics page, you can see your travel data such as total travel days, number of locations visited, and number of travel plans created. You can analyze your travel experience with detailed statistics such as budget usage, distance traveled, and activity counts.
